Peterborough came out on top in a seven-goal League One thriller as they beat struggling Crawley 4-3.

The Posh scored twice in three first-half minutes through Ricky-Jade Jones and Cian Hayes to lead but soon saw their deficit halved thanks to a second goal of the season from visiting striker Ade Adeyemo.

Despite Cypriot midfielder Hector Kyprianou restoring the hosts’ two-goal advantage just after the interval, the away side simply were not willing to lie down and were soon back level.

Two goals in as many minutes from attackers Will Swan and Tola Showunmi silenced the home crowd and gave The Red Devils belief that they could pick up a crucial away point.

However, Peterborough had other ideas and stole the three points as Irish winger Hayes doubled his tally for the afternoon thanks to a neat ball from Malik Mothersille.

Darren Ferguson’s side made it a first win in four League One games whilst Crawley remain in the relegation zone.
