Five candidates to replace Hodgson as pressure mounts at Palace
Crystal Palace are struggling to break free of the Premier League's relegation battle this season.
The Eagles sit five points above Everton, who occupy the final spot in the drop zone, ahead of their meeting on Monday and pressure is mounting on manager Roy Hodgson.
With the 76-year-old in the firing line, we take a look at the names in the frame to take over in South London.
Oliver Glasner
Chairman Steve Parish could tempt a man with European silverware to South London in current favourite Oliver Glasner.
The 49-year-old led Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League glory in 2022 but parted ways with the German side a year later after a poor Bundesliga campaign.
During his decade in management, the Austrian has built a reputation for providing consistency — which would be a welcome sight at Selhurst Park.
His arrival would be a significant step towards preventing the club's first relegation since 2005.
Kieran McKenna
Having caught the eye in charge of high-flying Ipswich this season, Kieran McKenna is now being tipped for a Premier League gig.
The Championship side hit a slump recently but considering they have only just made it back into the second tier, McKenna can only be praised for the job he is doing in Suffolk.
The Tractor Boys are within touching distance of the automatic promotion places and are locked in a battle with Leeds and Southampton to join likely league winners Leicester in ascending to the top flight.
Parish is said to be a huge admirer of the 37-year-old but will find it tough to prise him away from his current role before the end of the season.
Graham Potter
If Palace fans are keen to see attacking football return to Selhurst Park, Graham Potter would be the perfect appointment.
Potter, 48, is currently without a job after being sacked by Chelsea but it was his time at Brighton that put his name in the spotlight.
His relentless pressing system is used by several Premier League managers and it would help get the best out of star players Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze.
Palace would have to move quickly to secure Potter's services with West Ham also showing interest as uncertainty around David Moyes continues to grow.
Steve Cooper
After guiding Nottingham Forest to an unlikely promotion in 2022, Steve Cooper's dismissal 18 months later still weighs heavy on the hearts of fans in the Midlands.
The ex-England youth coach had to manage a massive rebuild during the transition back into the top flight and managed to keep the club up against the odds.
And he is now patiently waiting for his next opportunity in management, with Palace a potential suitor for the 44-year-old.
Cooper's expertise lies in helping develop young players and the Eagles have plenty of talent on the books that would flourish under his leadership.
Scott Parker
Scott Parker's managerial career has stalled since being given the boot at Club Brugge last year.
The former West Ham and Tottenham midfielder, 43, also had spells in charge of Fulham and Bournemouth but both ended under ugly circumstances.
Despite disagreements with the ownership during his most recent gig in the Premier League with Bournemouth, Parker did implement an attacking style of play that was successful in the short term.
