Mohamed Salah etched his name in Liverpool's history books by overtaking Robbie Fowler as their all-time top Premier League goalscorer with a brace against rivals Manchester United.

Salah smashed in the Reds' fourth goal of the game to level Fowler's tally before tucking the ball home again to set a new record.

Jurgen Klopp's men ran riot against the Red Devils at Anfield, beating their rivals 7-0 in a game that will be remembered for many years.

Salah's double took the Egyptian to 129 top-flight goals for the Merseysiders.

Impressively, Liverpool's No11 managed the feat in just 205 matches, which is significantly fewer than Reds icon Fowler.

Salah, 30, has been a revelation since his return to England in 2017 and played his part in helping the club win the Premier League title in 2019-20 — their first since the top flight was rebranded in 1992.

Last season's Golden Boot joint-winner has also seen success in the Champions League, winning the competition in 2019 and appearing in the 2018 and 2022 finals.

To celebrate his momentous achievement, we take a look at five of Salah's best Premier League strikes under Klopp.

Liverpool 1-1 Everton (December 2017)

Salah opened his Merseyside derby account at the first time of asking and his delightful finish went on to win the 2018 Puskas Award.

After picking up the ball from Joe Gomez on the right-hand side, the two-time African Footballer of the Year drove at the Everton defence, gliding past three defenders before unleashing a curling effort towards goal.

His audacious attempt sailed past Jordan Pickford before nestling in the top corner and it will forever be remembered as one of the great Merseyside derby goals.

Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham (February 2018)

There have been many memorable moments between Liverpool and Tottenham in the last few years, but Salah's solo effort at Anfield in 2018 is the pick of the bunch.

After putting his team ahead, Spurs equalised late on before the former Roma star attacked the opposition box, weaving in and out of four players before lifting his effort over Hugo Lloris.

This goal would become a trademark for the Premier League legend, who has scored in a similar style many more times since this occasion five years ago.

Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea (April 2019)

Salah's rocket against former club Chelsea in 2019 is one of his most memorable strikes to have graced the Anfield pitch and it will live on in the memory of every Reds fan.

Sadio Mane had opened the scoring a few minutes before the goal but the world-class winger stole the show after receiving the ball from Virgil van Dijk on the flank.

The 83-cap international set the ball out of his feet before bursting past Emerson and rifling his effort into the top corner, leaving Kepa Arrizabalaga with no chance.

Liverpool 2-2 Manchester City (October 2021)

Klopp's side lost out on the Premier League title by one point last season, but this goal against Manchester City in October 2021 had Reds fans believing that they would go on to become champions once again.

The three-time Golden Boot winner received the ball with his back to goal, before turning Joao Cancelo and dancing through Bernardo Silva and Aymeric Laporte to fire past Ederson from a tight angle.

Unsurprisingly, Salah won the Goal of the Month award for his efforts and it would not be the last time he would be recognised for his goalscoring instincts.

Watford 0-5 Liverpool (October 2021)

If Salah's effort against City had not won Goal of the Month, then his strike at Watford 13 days later would have done.

Once again, the dynamic forward pounced on a loose ball and demonstrated his incredibly quick feet to keep the ball away from a swarm of Hornets before checking back on to his left foot.

The expert finisher curled his effort into the bottom corner with such precision that it left Ben Foster rooted to the spot and the away end in raptures having witnessed another magical moment from their talisman.
