Mohamed Salah believes Liverpool can achieve something "special" after the Egyptian scored his 200th Reds goal in a dramatic comeback win over Crystal Palace.

Liverpool were heading for a shock defeat at Selhurst Park through Jean-Philippe Mateta's penalty but Salah equalised in the 76th minute before teeing up Harvey Elliott to score the winner in stoppage time.

The 2-1 victory saw Jurgen Klopp's men momentarily leapfrog Arsenal at the top of the Premier League and Salah says the spirited late turnaround is a positive sign for their new-look side.

He told TNT Sports after the game: "I see the mentality to keep fighting until the end. We keep doing that.

"We have a new team now because there are six or seven players. We need to give them advice.

"They're learning a lot and they're really nice. We can do something special this year."

Salah, 31, netted his 200th goal since arriving at Anfield in 2017, while his left-footed finish was also his 150th in the Premier League.

On the landmark, he added: "The most important thing was that we won the game. It's a great feeling.

"I'm happy for the record and that we won the game."

In contrast, it was only youngster Elliott's sixth goal for the Merseyside club — and arguably his most significant.

And the 20-year-old spoke of the influence his prolific team-mate has had on his game since joining the Reds.

He said: "My finish today just sums up what I've learned off him. If I spoke about the influence he's had on me then everyone would get bored!"

Harvey also admitted that Liverpool's aim is to be crowned champions at the end of the season, adding: "We're going in the right direction. There's a lot of the season left.

"We need to make sure we keep getting the three points and if we're contenders at the end of the season then let's go for it.

"The aim is to win the Premier League."
