Chelsea miss their Man as Ugarte joins PSG
Paris Saint-Germain have signed Manuel Ugarte despite Chelsea's best efforts to bring the 22-year-old to the Premier League.
The midfielder was reportedly close to joining Mauricio Pochettino's Blues from Sporting but will head for the Parc des Princes instead.
After signing a five-year deal, Ugarte said: "I'm really happy to take this big step in my career at such a great club.
"I'm going to give my all for Paris Saint-Germain."
PSG unveiled new boss Luis Enrique earlier this week and have since confirmed the captures of Ugarte, Marco Asensio and Milan Skriniar.
It is set to be a busy window in the French capital with Lionel Messi heading for Inter Miami, Sergio Ramos out of contract and Kylian Mbappe's future up in the air.
Ugarte will wear the No4 shirt at his new club and will hope to add more trophies to the Taca da Liga he won with Sporting.
The eight-cap Uruguay ace has already racked up 163 senior appearances and should be able to make an immediate impact in Luis Enrique's midfield.
PSG are believed to be working on at least three more new additions in a complete squad overhaul.
And there will be more upheaval if Mbappe does not commit his future to the French giants.
The superstar forward is available on a free next summer and PSG chiefs are adamant that they will sell their prized asset this window if no extension is agreed.
Long-term suitors Real Madrid are believed to be in pole position should Mbappe be made available.
