Manchester City have completed the signing of Belgian winger Jeremy Doku from Rennes on a five-year deal.

The highly-rated 21-year-old was linked with a number of Premier League teams this summer and will now join Pep Guardiola's Treble winners.

Upon making the move official, Doku said: This is a great day for me, both personally and professionally.

Manchester City are the best team in world football, so to be joining them is something very special for me and my family.

I am a young player with so much learning and improving to do. Working with Pep and his staff, and playing alongside these work-class players, will make me a much better player. I feel sure of that.

Watching City last season was amazing. To win the Treble is the hardest thing in football and they did it. You cannot imagine how exciting it is to be joining this team.

Favouring a right-sided attacking role, Doku appears to be a direct replacement for Riyad Mahrez, who left the Etihad for Al-Ahli earlier this summer.

Doku scored six goals and collected a further two assists in Ligue 1 last season and netted in Rennes' season opener against Metz earlier this month.

The 14-cap international is City's third recruit of the transfer window after midfielder Mateo Kovacic and defender Josko Gvardiol.

The league champions have begun the defence of their title in ominous form, beating Burnley 3-0 and Newcastle 1-0 in their opening two matches.

They have also already claimed silverware this season, winning the UEFA Super Cup on penalties against Sevilla after a 1-1 draw.
