The Champions League final pits Manchester City and Inter Milan against each other for the first time in a competitive match and the outcome will complete a trophy treble for the winning side.

City's quest for a first Champions League crown is an obsession in itself. Yet they have already had a fantastic season, edging out Arsenal in the Premier League title race and overcoming bitter rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final.

Inter have also collected two trophies – winning 3-0 against Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana and 2-1 against Fiorentina in last month's Coppa Italia final.

The Italians have been crowned champions of Europe on three occasions but have not reached a Champions League final since Jose Mourinho led them to a 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich in 2010.

Bet 1: Manchester City to win

Manchester City have passed a couple of stiff tests with flying colours on their way to the final and should have too much quality and firepower for Inter in Istanbul.

The knockout stage draws could not have been much tougher for Pep Guardiola's side, who have had to get past six-times winners Bayern Munich and 14-times champions Real Madrid.

City's quarter-final against Bayern was effectively settled by a superb 3-0 first-leg triumph at the Etihad, but they had to show different qualities against semi-final opponents Real, who forged ahead with Vinicius Junior's first-leg goal.

There were a few brief moments when Real threatened to extend their advantage but Kevin De Bruyne's stunning equaliser changed the mood of the tie and City ran out rampant 4-0 winners in the second leg.

Inter's progress to the final has been less dramatic and has been based on five clean sheets in six knockout matches.

But the Italians have not had to come up against any of the continent's top teams since the group stage and their clash against City looks like a significant step up in class which they may struggle to bridge.

Bet 2: Over 2.5 goals

City were involved in two goalless draws in the group stage, but they have scored three goals or more in six of their Champions League matches and are likely to contribute to a high-scoring final.

Inter will do their best to prevent an open game but they shipped 42 goals in Serie A and are unlikely to cope against a City team boasting outstanding individual quality.

Erling Haaland and De Bruyne are leading the competition's goals and assists charts with tallies of 12 and six and are the obvious danger men to keep an eye on.

But Bernardo Silva popped up with two goals in the 4-0 rout at home to Real and Ilkay Gundogan has helped himself to six goals in his last six appearances.

Inter will have to switch to more offensive tactics if they fall behind and their front two of Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez could cause City some problems.

However, City will be even more dangerous if the game opens up and they should win a high-scoring contest.

Bet 3: Ilkay Gundogan to score anytime

Gundogan was seen as more of a creative player in his early years at Manchester City but he has become a regular goalscorer in recent times and he looks a potential match-winner in Istanbul.

The 32-year-old German has notched 29 Premier League goals across the last three Premier League seasons and needed just 12 seconds to score the first of two goals in last Saturday's 2-1 success over Manchester United in the FA Cup final.

Gundogan has been getting a lot of success with his well-timed runs into the box and often evades the attention of opposing defenders, who are more concerned with shackling Haaland.

There has been a recent drop off from Haaland, who has scored just once in his last seven appearances, but Gundogan has been happy to fill the void and he looks ready to make his mark on the biggest stage in club football.
