Four-Gun conclusion as Arsenal bag quadruple at London Football Awards

Premier League title-chasers Arsenal dominated the London Football Awards with an impressive four winners.

Martin Odegaard picked up the Premier League Player of the Year for his integral role in helping the Gunners establish a five-point lead at the summit of the English top flight.

The Norwegian skipper, 24, beat team-mate Bukayo Saka, Tottenham star Harry Kane and prolific Fulham marksman Aleksandar Mitrovic to the prestigious accolade.

Odegaard said: "I just want to say thank you so much for this award, thanks to everyone who voted for me. 

"[There were] a lot of great candidates and I think within the team [Arsenal] there were a lot of worthy winners. I just want to share it with the whole team.

"It's great to see the club being recognised here tonight with all the awards. 

"I think it shows how far we've come as a club and what we’re doing here is really special so I'm happy to be a part of that.

"I’m sure there's more to come so I'm very excited for the future as well."

Saka took home the Young Player of the Year gong for the second season running in a category also featuring his colleagues William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli.

In further dominance for the North Londoners, Mikel Arteta was recognised as the Manager of the Year and Aaron Ramsdale scooped the goalkeeper’s prize.

Chelsea striker Sam Kerr was another to claim back-to-back wins after seeing off competition from Arsenal duo Beth Mead and Kim Little to be named Women's Super League Player of the Year.

Australian star Kerr, 29, said: "It feels amazing. 

"It has been a big year for women's football so it is an amazing honour to win it, especially in a year where in England the Lionesses have done so well and women's football has been on a big trajectory.

"Chelsea have given to me as much I have given to them, it has been a crazy journey since I have been here. 

"From the moment I signed it felt different from anything I have ever experienced and since I have been here I have loved it and it has been a great journey."

The Blues completed a WSL double with 21-year-old Lauren James recognised as the Young Player of the Year.

There was also a special prize for the Lionesses, who were handed the inaugural Power of Football Award. 

Captain Leah Williamson proudly accepted the honour after leading her country to Euro 2022 glory last summer — England's first major tournament success since 1966.

West Ham stalwart Mark Noble was also recognised with the Outstanding Contribution to London Football accolade. 

The Canning Town-born Hammers legend called time on an extraordinary 18-year career with the Irons at the end of the last season.

All money raised on the night by the London Football Awards goes to support the Willow Foundation, which helps provide special days for seriously ill young adults.
