Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall got a goal and assist as heavily rotated Leicester beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at the King Power Stadium.

The midfielder played a perfectly-timed pass to set up Ademola Lookman to fire the Foxes in front after 39 minutes.

The Foxes doubled their advantage when Patson Daka pounced on a Marc Guehi mistake before pulling the ball back to Dewsbury-Hall who finished into the top corner on the stroke of half-time.

Palace got a goal back when Wilfried Zaha scored the rebound from his missed penalty following Youri Tielemans' foul on Jordan Ayew.

The hosts climb above the Eagles into ninth after the victory and manager Brendan Rodgers was thrilled with his side's display.

He said: "I was delighted with the performance and the result.

"The players with a great urgency and intensity, pressed really well, had lots of really good moments with the ball and it was a really good win for us.

"I was so happy for them, it was a really good result playing against a team off the back of a really good win. The players were magnificent."

Palace remain in the top half despite the defeat but manager Patrick Vieira lamented his team's poor start.

He said: "The damage was done from the first minute of the first half.

"We didn't enter into the game in the right way, we gave ourselves too much to climb and it was a better response in the second half.

"We tried to get that goal to get back but it was too much for us."
