Giroud's plan

AC Milan and France striker Olivier Giroud is pushing for a move to Los Angeles FC.

The 37-year-old's contract expires in the summer and he is said to be keen on linking up with former international team-mate Hugo Lloris.

According to ESPN, LAFC hold the player's discovery rights and will have priority in negotiations should he decide to move Stateside.

Fans who bought tickets for Lionel Messi's no-show against Hong Kong XI last month are set to receive a 50% refund.

The Argentine superstar dropped out at the last minute as Inter Miami claimed a 4-1 friendly win at a sold-out Hong Kong Stadium, with supporters voicing their frustrations by booing the Major League Soccer outfit.

Match organiser Tatler Asia say ticketholders must agree not to pursue legal action — and the publication claim the refund process could cost up to £5.6million.

Messi misses friendlies

Lionel Messi has been ruled out of Argentina's upcoming international friendly double-header following a hamstring injury picked up while playing for Inter Miami.

Messi, 36, was absent from Saturday's win over DC United after being taken off against Nashville last week.

And Argentina have now confirmed on social media that their World Cup winner will miss the games against El Salvador and Costa Rice due to a "minor" issue.

Lethal Luis

Luis Suarez recorded his second brace in Major League Soccer as Inter Miami claimed a crucial 3-1 victory away at DC United.

The Uruguayan forward netted in the 72nd and 85th minute after Leonardo Campana had cancelled out Jared Stroud's opener for the hosts.

Miami were without the services of captain Lionel Messi due to injury but still claimed their third win in five Eastern Conference outings this term.

No risks

Inter Miami boss Gerardo Martino will take a cautious approach towards Lionel Messi's injury after the superstar forward was substituted in the 3-1 victory over Nashville.

The Argentine, 36, scored in the first half to help book a place in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-finals but had to leave the pitch in the 50th minute after suffering discomfort in his right leg as Miami won 5-3 on aggregate.

Martino said: "Leo has a muscle overload in his right leg. We don't want to take any kind of risk with him."
