Gus Scott-Morriss headed a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Southend a 2-2 home draw against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Defender Scott-Morriss leapt highest to glance home a header in the third minute of added time to deny the Daggers a third league win of the season.

Oli Coker fired Southend into an early lead after being teed up by Harry Cardwell, but the Daggers hit back before the break through Reece Grego-Cox’s penalty after Jack Bridge’s foul on Dion Pereira.

Southend goalkeeper Collin Andeng-Ndi tipped Junior Morias’ shot on to the crossbar just after the restart before Josh Rees fired the visitors ahead after good work in the box by Pereira.

But Scott-Morriss was first to Jack Wood’s cross and he glanced home the Shrimpers’ last-gasp equaliser.
