- Unbeaten Villarreal host Barcelona on Sunday evening
- Kylian Mbappe is looking to score for the third game in a row
- Struggling Valencia seek a first win

The LaLiga action continues this weekend and Barcelona's Sunday trip to Villarreal is the pick of the matchday six contests as the Catalan giants aim to bounce back from a midweek Champions League loss to Monaco.

Champions Real Madrid, who ran out 3-1 winners over Stuttgart on Tuesday, host Espanyol at the Bernabeu on Saturday evening.

We have previewed every fixture from the sixth round in Spain's top flight.

Alaves vs Sevilla (Friday, 8pm)

Alaves have made a solid start to the season, claiming seven points from five matches, and they could add to Sevilla's woes. The visitors scrambled past Getafe last time out but Alaves did the double over them last season.

Score prediction: Alaves to win 1-0

Real Valladolid vs Real Sociedad (Saturday, 1pm)

Both of these teams have made poor starts but Sociedad have been more competitive than Valladolid, who have shipped 13 goals in their last four games. The Basque club won away at Espanyol in August and are taken to just edge this.

Score prediction: Real Sociedad to win 2-1

Osasuna vs Las Palmas (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Osasuna have claimed seven points from three home matches and should prove too strong for winless Las Palmas. The visitors, however, have scored in four of their five matches and can notch in defeat.

Score prediction: Osasuna to win 2-1

Valencia vs Girona (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Girona have lost to Barcelona and Paris St-Germain in their last two matches but can return to winning ways at Valencia. The hosts have claimed one point from five outings and look set for a season of struggle.

Score prediction: Girona to win 2-1

Real Madrid vs Espanyol (Saturday, 8pm)

Champions Real Madrid are starting to go through the gears, winning their last three games in all competitions - all by a two-goal margin. They can see off Espanyol but the visitors may keep it respectable.

Score prediction: Real Madrid to win 2-0

Getafe vs Leganes (Sunday, 1pm)

This Madrid derby contest could be tight. Hosts Getafe are winless this term but have drawn both of their home matches while visitors Leganes have claimed just one point from their last four.

Score prediction: 1-1 draw

Athletic Bilbao vs Celta Vigo (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Athletic Bilbao had a mighty home record last season and while it's been a mixed start at San Mames this term, they should see off Celta Vigo. Both teams have, however, found the net in each of Celta's last five matches.

Score prediction: Athletic Bilbao to win 3-1

Villarreal vs Barcelona (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Unbeaten Villarreal face their toughest test to date when Barcelona visit El Madrigal. Barca lost to Monaco in the Champions League on Thursday night but they've started the season with five LaLiga wins and 17 goals.

Score prediction: Barcelona to win 2-1

Rayo Vallecano vs Atletico Madrid (Sunday, 8pm)

Atletico Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano 7-0 in this fixture last season and should earn a repeat win to nil by a less impressive scoreline. Atleti are unbeaten in LaLiga this season, keeping four consecutive clean sheets.

Score prediction: Atletico Madrid to win 2-0

Real Betis vs Real Mallorca (Monday, 8pm)

Real Betis have won their last two La Liga matches, both at home, and can make it three on the bounce against Real Mallorca. The visitors won at Leganes in their last road outing but tend to do their best work at their Balearic base.

Score prediction: Real Betis to win 2-0
