- Atletico Madrid have won their last seven LaLiga matches
- Celta Vigo have lost six of their last eight league games on the road
- Only three of Leganes' last 15 league matches have featured more than two goals

With Real Madrid facing Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final, Atletico Madrid will have the chance to go top of LaLiga with a home win over Osasuna on Sunday.

Earlier, Real Valladolid will look to drag themselves off the bottom with a win over Real Betis on Saturday, while Monday’s clash between seventh-placed Real Sociedad and Villarreal, who are fifth, looks set to be an intriguing encounter.

Ian Wilkerson has correct-score picks for all eight Spanish La Liga matches this weekend.

Rayo Vallecano vs Celta Vigo (Friday, 8pm)

Rayo Vallecano have drawn seven league games this season, including their last three, so there could be little to split these two teams separated by two points in the standings.

Celta Vigo have lost six of eight on the road but can get a point against a team who have won one of their last six at home.

Score prediction: Rayo Vallecano 1-1 Celta Vigo

Alaves vs Girona (Saturday, 1pm)

Alaves have drawn their last five league and cup games and there could be deadlock again when they face Girona, who ended a six-match winless run with a 3-0 success against Real Valladolid.

It could still be high scoring though, with each of Girona’s last five games and four of Alaves’ last six generating more than two goals.

Score prediction: Alaves 2-2 Girona

Real Valladolid vs Real Betis (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Real Betis have won four of their last five matches and should come out on top against the bottom side Real Valladolid, who are finding life tough after promotion and have won just one of their last eight.

Score prediction: Real Valladolid 0-2 Real Betis

Espanyol vs Leganes (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Espanyol have not won in five matches and they look vulnerable against a Leganes side who will still be full of beans after a 1-0 win at Barcelona in mid-December.

Only three of the visitors’ last 15 games have featured more than two goals, so they may just sneak it.

Score prediction: Espanyol 0-1 Leganes

Sevilla vs Valencia (Saturday, 8pm)

Sevilla were left reeling by a 4-1 Copa del Rey defeat to Almeria and they could be held to a point by struggling Valencia, who were unfortunate to go down 2-1 to Real Madrid last week.

Score prediction: Sevilla 1-1 Valencia

Las Palmas vs Getafe (Sunday, 1pm)

Las Palmas are unbeaten in their last four games, which included a 2-1 win at Barcelona, so expect them to get the better of Getafe, who have kept just two clean sheets in their last 10 games.

Score prediction: Las Palmas 2-0 Getafe

Atletico Madrid vs Osasuna (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Atletico will go top if they secure an eighth successive LaLiga victory and they should do that without much trouble against an Osasuna side who have won just one of their last eight games.

Score prediction: Atletico Madrid 3-0 Osasuna

Real Sociedad vs Villarreal (Monday, 8pm)

Real Sociedad have kept three straight home clean sheets in the league, but Villarreal have been turned over in just two of their nine away LaLiga outings this term and will be confident they can get something.

Score prediction: Real Sociedad 1-1 Villarreal
