Konstantinos Mavropanos has vowed to give his all for West Ham after the East Londoners announced their latest summer addition.

The Hammers have signed the former Arsenal centre-back from Stuttgart after a move for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire fell through.

David Moyes has been eager to find defensive reinforcements this summer, with the £100million fee received from the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal burning the club's pockets.

On his arrival, the Greek international said: "I am really happy and excited to be here and to be back in the Premier League with West Ham.

"It's an exciting time to be joining the club after last season's Europa Conference League win and I am really looking forward to the next step in my career.

"I can promise the fans I will give everything for them and the shirt."

Mavropanos will compete with Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, Thilo Kehrer and Angelo Ogbonna for a spot in the side, with the club's Europa League participation guaranteeing playing opportunities.

His experience will be a huge boost for Moyes who has already guided his side to victory over Chelsea this season.

The Scottish boss said: "I'm pleased to welcome Konstantinos to West Ham.

"We've been looking to add to our centre-half options this summer, so it's good we’ve been able to bring in an international defender of his ability.

"We're really looking forward to integrating him into the group."

Mavropanos has signed a five-year deal at the London Stadium and could be in line to face Brighton on Saturday.

The Athens-born colossus stands at 6ft 4in and will add power to Moyes' squad who already excel in the air and from set-pieces.
