Barcelona have signed Atletico Madrid outcast Joao Felix on loan for the 2023-24 campaign.

The 23-year-old made his desire to join the LaLiga champions very clear earlier in the summer, stating that it would be a dream to play for them.

Having spent the last term on loan at Chelsea, Felix will spend another year away from his parent club, who paid well over £100million for the Portuguese international.

But Felix has yet to make a domestic appearance in the new season and has got his wish to move again on deadline day.

There will be no buy option for Barca to make his stay permanent, but head coach Xavi will be hoping that he can help guide them to back-to-back league titles.

Felix made 16 appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea last season, scoring four goals and impressing in West London.

Barca are still operating under strict financial controls but have managed to secure a number of first-team signings.

Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez both arrived on free transfers to strengthen their spine, while Oriol Romeu came in on a cut-price deal from Girona.
