Didier Deschamps led France to the World Cup Final but now the focus switches to Euro 2024 qualification

The first round of Euro 2024 qualifying matches takes place this week and we have selected a five-fold paying out at over 24/1.

Denmark are expected to get the better of Finland, while Poland are fancied to come out on top against the Czech Republic.

Friday's big game between France and Netherlands can go the way of Les Blues and Belgium and Israel are also tipped to win their respective opening qualifiers.

Thursday, 7.45pm

Denmark have a point to prove after a disappointing group-stage exit at the World Cup and the Euro 2020 semi-finalists should outclass Finland in their opening qualifier.

The Danes are hot favourites to finish top of Group H and their defence has little to fear from a Finland side who have won only two of their last 13 internationals, both against Montenegro.

Poland were outclassed by France in the last 16 of the World Cup, having lost their final group game against Argentina, who went on to lift the trophy, but they may have more success against a limited Czech Republic side on Friday.

The Czechs have lost five of their last six matches, conceding 12 goals in those defeats, and their only recent respite came in a 5-0 win over the Faroe Islands.

Poland look dangerous outsiders to take three points in Prague, where Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski will be aiming to add to his tally of 78 international goals.

France and the Netherlands both had their 2022 World Cup dreams crushed in penalty-shootout defeats to eventual winners Argentina and the European heavyweights now meet in a mouthwatering Group B qualifier.

Ronald Koeman is back in charge of the Dutch, replacing veteran coach Louis van Gaal, but the visiting defence may struggle to keep the World Cup runners-up quiet with Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Olivier Giroud among Les Bleus' attacking options.

Friday, 7.45pm

Belgium scored only once in three games at the World Cup on their way to an ignominious group-stage elimination but new coach Domenico Tedesco has a talented squad to work with in Euro 2024 qualifying.

The Red Devils have won their last 14 European Championship qualifiers while hosts Sweden lost at home to Norway and Serbia in last year's Nations League.

Saturday, 5pm

Israel won their last three home 2022 World Cup qualifiers, including an impressive 5-2 victory over Austria, and they can extend that hot streak by beating Kosovo in Tel Aviv on Saturday.

The free-scoring hosts have found the net at least twice in 13 of their last 16 internationals, while Kosovo have won only two of their last 13 competitive away games, against Georgia and Cyprus.
