Bayern Munich talisman Harry Kane was happy to rediscover his scoring form as his brace secured a 2-1 win over RB Leipzig at the end of a challenging week.

The England captain found the target twice, including a 91st-minute winner to secure victory for the Bavarians.

Kane combined with Jamal Musiala to punch home the opener soon after the break only for Benjamin Sesko's deflected shot to creep past Manuel Neuer and bring the score level in the 70th minute.

However the Bayern striker would have the final say when he volleyed Eric Choupo-Moting's cross beyond the reach of Janis Blaswich to seal all three points.

And Kane was pleased to get back among the goals.

He told ESPN: "It feels good but from my point of view you never get too high or too low, you have to keep fighting, keep battling.

"The season is not going as we wanted it to go. Credit to Leverkusen in that aspect, to still be undefeated at this stage is special for them but there is still a long way to go."

The win ended a three-game losing streak for the defending champions who sit second, eight points behind the league leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

As a result of their poor form, Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel agreed to part ways with the club at the end of the season — a decision Kane believes changes little for the current campaign.

He said: "Of course, we have sadness because he's a top manager, a really good guy.

"The club have made a decision to part ways in the summer and that's football. But from a player's point of view, we owe a responsibility to the coach, the team, and the club to fight for every point.

"We've got good characters and that's all we can do. Keep trying to build as many points as possible."
