Championship football is back on the menu and here we look at five potential goalscorers for the weekend's second tier action in England.

With nine Championship goals already to his name this season, Blackburn's Ben Brereton is one of the most dangerous forwards in the league.

Brereton bagged in Rovers' last win before the World Cup break against Huddersfield and it would be no surprise to see him land his 10th league goal of the campaign in this weekend's Lancashire derby against Preston.

Burnley are flying high at the top of the Championship and top goalscorer Jay Rodriguez has played a big part in the Clarets' good start to the campaign.

With nine goals in 17 appearances, Rodriguez has one of the best goal-per-minute ratios in the division.

Against a QPR side that are in freefall — without a win in their last five Championship games — Rodriguez can add to the R's woes.

Scott Hogan will be looking to pick up where he left off before the start of the World Cup after scoring in two of Birmingham's last three Championship games.

With nine goals in the competition this season, Hogan is another player challenging to be top goalscorer in the second tier this term.

Saturday's opponents Blackpool are on a four-game losing streak and Hogan looks well-priced to strike again at Bloomfield Road.

One of the form players in the Championship before the break, Victor Gyokeres is certainly a player to keep an eye on for Coventry against Reading.

The Swede scored in all of the Sky Blues' last three games, including a brace in their most recent outing against QPR.

Another player on nine for the season, Gyokeres will have his 10th Championship goal in his sights up against an out-of-form Reading.

Middlesbrough are a team on the rise and Chuba Akpom has had plenty to do with the turnaround at the Riverside.

Scoring in three of their last four Championship games, Akpom has helped Boro go four games unbeaten and is certainly worth considering in the goalscorer market this weekend.
