Fulham have signed Chelsea striker Armando Broja on loan for the rest of the season.

Cottagers boss Marco Silva was desperate to bring in a goalscorer after Raul Jimenez suffered a hamstring injury.

And the club convinced Blues academy graduate Broja, 22, to make a temporary switch across West London before the January transfer window slammed shut.

The hitman, who has netted just two goals in 19 appearances in all competitions this season, said: "It feels amazing.

"I'm really happy to be here and I can't wait to get started, meet the players and manager and play for the fans.

"The fans always play a big role and I can't wait to go to Craven Cottage and meet them all.

"I'm going to work hard for the team and create a real bond. I'm really honoured and excited to be here."

Cottagers supremo Tony Khan added: "I'm very excited we've reached an agreement to bring Armando to Fulham.

"He's a young and talented striker who is happy and motivated to join our squad and to play for Marco and his staff. Come on Fulham!"

Ironically, Broja opened his account for the season as Chelsea won 2-0 at Craven Cottage in October.

He did not find the net again for Mauricio Pochettino's side until they put four past Preston in the FA Cup third round last month.

Part of a short statement from Chelsea confirming Broja's departure said: "The Albania international will now continue his development in the Premier League with our neighbours. Good luck, Armando!"

Broja will wear the No9 shirt for Fulham.
