Four stars enjoying flying starts at new clubs

Some footballers take time to settle at a new club but for others, it is a seamless transition.

We have picked out the four players from across Europe's top leagues who have made the most impressive start to life with their new employers.

Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)

Not many youngsters can rock up to Real Madrid and request Zinedine Zidane's iconic No6 shirt — Jude Bellingham is built differently.

Los Blancos shelled out an initial £88.5million to lure the Birmingham-born ace from Borussia Dortmund and that princely sum is already looking like a bargain.

Already considered one of the world's most rounded midfielders, Bellingham has taken his goalscoring to new levels at the Bernabeu with 13 strikes in as many games across LaLiga and the Champions League.

That insane tally features three injury-time winners, the latest of which completed a stunning brace in his El Clasico debut away to Barcelona. Not too shabby.

Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)

Harry Kane's decision to finally cut ties with boyhood club Tottenham and join German giants Bayern Munich was a controversial one.

While his old side have not exactly struggled in his absence, the England captain has only solidified his reputation as one of world football's most clinical finishers during his early months in Bavaria.

Kane, 30, has notched 12 goals and five assists in his first nine Bundesliga appearances, including two hat-tricks — the latter of which against Darmstadt boasted a wonder strike from his own half.

The marksman has also helped Bayern achieve a perfect start in the Champions League and a first career trophy surely cannot be far away.

James Maddison (Tottenham)

Filling the huge void left by Kane in North London looked an unenviable task but James Maddison relishes big responsibility. 

Arriving at Spurs from relegated Leicester in a £40m deal, creator-in-chief Maddison has been an instant hit in the capital, thriving in Ange Postecoglou's free-flowing, attack-minded setup.

As well as his three goals and five assists in the top flight thus far, Maddison leads the division for both chances created (31) and final-third passes completed (201).

Despite his hot start, Postecoglou has challenged the 26-year-old to "not be satisfied" with his current level and to strive to become one of the world's best — suggesting even brighter days may be on the horizon.

Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool)

Liverpool saw some high-profile departures this summer but in Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai, they appear to have unearthed a gem.

The former RB Leipzig star, 23, has breathed new life into the Reds' midfield with his boundless energy, broad passing range and ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch.

He ranks inside the Premier League's top five midfielders for a host of metrics, including interceptions in the defensive and middle thirds, final-third passes and created chances.

Heading into November, Szoboszlai is the only member of Jurgen Klopp's squad to play every single minute in the top flight, showing how crucial a figure he has become already.
