Death threats over Hojlund interview

Manchester United fan channel presenter Mark Goldbridge has been subjected to death threats after interviewing Rasmus Hojlund.

Goldbridge launched The United Stand over a decade ago and has built up a following of millions of people on social media but receives regular abuse for his opinions.

A police statement on the incident said: "Officers have spoken with the victim and relevant information has been passed over to the police. Enquiries are ongoing at this stage."

Goldbridge spoke to Mail Sport about the investigation after the names of staff members and their studio's location were released to the public.

He added: "I totally understand that football is a passionate and divisive sport, and that people are free to decide and have an opinion on what content they consume.

"However, the pile-on some of our staff were subject to over the weekend was incredibly sad to witness.

"To be threatening people's lives yet again evidences the vile pack mentality that exists on social media."

Pressure? What pressure?

Chelsea midfielder Melanie Leupolz says she is comfortable with the pressure of being hunted down by the rest of the Women's Super League.

The Blues are chasing a fifth consecutive WSL title and sit above Manchester City on goal difference ahead of Friday's clash with third-placed Arsenal.

Speaking to the BBC, Leupolz, 29, said: "We are used to that situation. I don't really look at the table, to be honest.

"The league is so tight. You have to win every single game so it doesn't matter who's on top of the league during the season — only who is on top at the end.

"We are pretty comfortable with that. In the last couple of years we have always been top at the end of the season.

"They [Arsenal] were really unlucky last season. It makes it more difficult for us now. It's great for the league and the fans. The big goal is to win this game."

Feel good factor

Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin says he is feeling at home in North London after joining from Serie A side Genoa in January.

The Romania international, 22, came on for the injured Micky van de Ven in the second half of last Sunday's 4-0 win at Aston Villa and did not look out of place in an impressive Spurs team.

He said: "It was very important to bring the points back for our run to the end of the season.

"I felt good, had a good rhythm and I'm looking forward to many more games.

"We are on our way, we want to play our football. I feel very good here. I'm really happy and looking forward.

"I've settled well, especially the people at the club, they've welcomed me very good and I already feel at home here."

KDB suffers setback

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has suffered another setback after picking up a minor groin injury.

The 32-year-old is expected to miss the FA Cup clash with Newcastle this weekend but his latest injury is not expected to be long-term.

He has also been left out of the Belgium squad to face the Republic of Ireland and England later this month.

However, the decorated playmaker should be back for the huge Premier League match against Arsenal on March 31.

De Bruyne appeared frustrated after being withdrawn against Liverpool in the 1-1 draw at Anfield last weekend, but Pep Guardiola is having to manage his recovering superstar.

The 99-cap international has already missed over 30 games for his club this season and will need to be at his fighting best if City are to retain the title for the fourth consecutive year.

Sad Saul

Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has penned a sombre message to fans after the club's Champions League victory over Inter Milan.

The Spanish club advanced to the quarter-finals on penalties but had a brilliant opportunity to win late in normal time before Niguez missed his spot-kick.

He posted on X: "Honestly, it is difficult for me to write right now, but just as I write in good times, I must do so in bad times.

"It's a s*** moment for me on a sporting level, and I'm aware.

"I accept all the criticism and not only because of today's penalty but because of how I am right now.

"I don't know exactly what it is, but the only thing they have taught me is to keep working through thick and thin, until I manage to change the situation.

"Thank you for being there through thick and thin. Aupa [come on] Atleti."
