Pulisic's predicament

Christian Pulisic has refused to rule out a Chelsea exit this summer.

The 24-year-old forward made 30 appearances for the Blues across all competitions last term but only 10 of those were starts.

And speaking ahead of the USA's CONCACAF Nations League fixtures later this month, Pulisic opened up on what has been a tough period for him in West London. 

He told reporters: "It's been an interesting journey at club level for me. I had a great couple of years but then the last couple just haven't gone at all how I planned them to be.

"Right now, my focus is obviously here with the national team and like I said before, I'm just excited to get back playing and enjoying myself, doing what I love to do out on the field.

"This summer, I'm just going to see what happens. It's obviously very early and as of right now I'm a Chelsea player, so I plan to go back.

"But a lot of things can happen, a lot of things can change."

Right on track

Casemiro believes Manchester United are making great strides under Erik ten Hag.

The Brazilian midfielder arrived at Old Trafford from Real Madrid last summer and impressed during his first season in England, scoring in United's Carabao Cup final win over Newcastle.

And though their campaign ended in defeat to Manchester City in Saturday's FA Cup final, the No18 is encouraged by his new club's trajectory under their Dutch boss.

The 31-year-old said: "I believe that we've been picking up on the mentality of the manager and the way that he wants us to play. 

"We've been together one season. We know that other sides have also taken a while to start winning things, like Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, who have also taken a while to start winning things with their other managers.

"So, we are on an upward curve. We're taking on board the manager's ideas and philosophy, and so we need to keep going step by step, gradually growing and improving.

"Of course, next season, it will also be very important for us to keep going with this growth." 

Bowyer's Leeds bid

Lee Bowyer believes he is the man to take Leeds back to the Premier League.

The 46-year-old, who has previously managed Charlton and Birmingham in England's second tier, has thrown his hat into the ring for the vacant post at his former club.

Speaking on TalkSPORT this afternoon, Bowyer said: "Obviously I have a connection with the club and I understand the club, and I think that's important for whoever comes in next. 

"If I got the call, then I'd love to go there and get that club going again. Get the fans onside and get the place bouncing again. I would definitely jump at the chance, for sure.

"I know the Championship now. A few years of management there, I understand it, I watched it all last season.

"You analyse and see what it takes to get promotion. I believe that if I went in there I believe I would get them promoted again."

Taylor-made

Manchester City captain Steph Houghton has hailed boss Gareth Taylor for helping take her game to new levels.

Houghton, 35, signed a new one-year deal with the Citizens yesterday and is the club's record appearance holder, having arrived back in January 2014.

But it is under the tutelage of Taylor that the England ace believes she has improved the most.

Houghton explained: "Me and Gaz have worked together for over three years now and for me, he's developed me as a centre-half in ways I didn't think I could progress. 

"In terms of my learning about the game and the way we play, we love having the ball at our feet as centre-halves and that brings out the best of me in terms of controlling possession. 

"He's really pushed me on my leadership skills in terms of in games and away from the pitch and I think especially over the last four or five months, I've been playing the best football I’ve ever played in my career."

Butland heads north

Goalkeeper Jack Butland has signed a four-year deal with Scottish giants Rangers.

Butland, 30, was released by Crystal Palace earlier this month having spent the second half of this season on loan at Manchester United as a back-up option.

After not making a senior appearance in 2022-23, the nine-cap England international will be relishing the chance of a fresh start at Ibrox.
