Ange Postecoglou has revealed James Maddison is fit to start Tottenham's FA Cup tie with Manchester City tomorrow.

The England international has been out with an ankle issue for over two months but has fully recovered.

Postecoglou said ahead of the fourth-round tie: "Madders has been training with us, has had a full training week. He's in a good place. He is available and ready to start.

"Everyone's ok from the last game. Deki [Dejan Kulusevski] has recovered from illness. 

"The boys had four days off last week, which was good.

"The body language of the lads is good. They have come back fresh and we had a really good training week."

Dier delight

Eric Dier described making his Bayern Munich debut as a "proud moment for me and my family" after featuring in the 1-0 win over Union Berlin last night.

The January loan signing from Tottenham replaced Dayot Upamecano at half-time of the victory and helped the Bundesliga champions move to within four point of leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

He said: "I really enjoy playing here and I'm happy to have made my debut here at this stadium.

"It's a very proud moment for me and my family and obviously I really enjoyed it.

"I'm really happy with how I've settled and obviously to make my debut and hopefully I can continue to help my team."

Feels like home

Midfielder Johanna Rytting Kaneryd believes Chelsea have outgrown usual home Kingsmeadow and are ready to move permanently to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues beat Real Madrid 2-1 at the 40,000-seater stadium in the Women's Champions League last night and Rytting Kaneryd, 26, is keen to play there as often as possible from now on.

She told LiveScore: "I think it's time for Stamford Bridge now definitely.

"It's an amazing atmosphere here and you enjoy every minute you're playing.

"I'm very happy we've been able to win both games here for ourselves and for the fans."

Cool on the quad

Jurgen Klopp insists he is not considering any tilt at a quadruple this season, with Liverpool still alive in four competitions.

The Reds qualified for the Carabao Cup final with a 3-2 aggregate semi-final win over Fulham and face Norwich in the FA Cup on Sunday.

They are also top of the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Europa League but their boss is refusing to get carried away.

He said: "I didn't think about it because we are far off having four finals.

"We have qualified for one. It makes no sense to plan the next one before you have played the first one.

"It's very unlikely we reach all three finals, it's just the nature of it."

Barca blues

Barcelona boss Xavi is excited about the club's future despite their Copa del Rey exit to Athletic Bilbao.

Barca lost the quarter-final tie 4-2 after extra-time with 16-year-old Lamine Yamal's stunning solo effort earlier in the game proving to be redundant.

And their legendary former player and current boss believes there is plenty to be excited about.

He said: "All coaches at big clubs depend on trophies but I feel pride at how we competed against a great team until the end, especially the youngsters. 

"We're playing with kids. The squad is small. 

"I think this is the start of something big. Whether I am here or not, Barca have a big future."

Sheva takes charge

Andriy Shevchenko has started a new role as President of the Ukrainian Association of Football.

The 111-cap legend was most recently in work as manager of Genoa having also coached his country between 2016-21.

Ex-AC Milan and Dynamo Kiev forward Shevechko, 47, said: "A big and responsible task lies ahead — to develop Ukrainian football in the most difficult time in the history of Ukraine.

"I thank all Ukrainians for the support I have felt for many years. I will do all I can to make Ukrainian football stronger — to keep it a ground for our unity and pride."
