Hungry Jesus

Gabriel Jesus is desperate to make up for lost time after inspiring Arsenal to a 4-1 win over Leeds in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Brazilian started in the league for the first time since picking up an injury at the World Cup last year and scored a brace as the Gunners maintained their advantage at the summit.

Despite his contributions, the former Manchester City striker is yet to complete a full match since returning and Jesus is pushing Mikel Arteta for more.

He said: "Obviously, every player wants to play the full 90 minutes.

"I think I’m ready to play more minutes. When the referee said to me I was going off, I was a little bit disappointed because I want to play, but of course I respect the manager and the other players as well.

"It was so good playing again, starting again and feeling the atmosphere of the crowd. I want to score and I practice penalties.

"Obviously, I want to score, I want to help the team with the goals. I missed a big part of the season and now I just want to play and help the team."

Bournemouth braced for Brighton

Bournemouth are braced for their upcoming clash against Brighton and will use their recent form to their advantage, according to head coach Gary O'Neil.

The Cherries picked up three crucial points against Fulham on Saturday that saw them climb to 16th in the Premier League table.

And O'Neil is relishing the current challenge on the South Coast and believes his side are capable of beating the flying Seagulls.

He said: "We’re in a decent spot and the lads are enjoying it, but there’s a big test coming in just over 24 hours.

"Brighton are a fantastic team, so it’s a real test, especially with the quick turnaround.

"There’s not too much time, only a day really, to prep the lads for what is a complicated task against what is a very good side.

Gracia calls on Yorkshire spirit

Leeds boss Javi Gracia has called on the spirit of club anthem 'Marching On Together' to help his side in their bid to retain their Premier League status.

The Whites continue their Premier League survival bid against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest on Tuesday having lost at Arsenal on Saturday.

But Gracia has not been disheartened by the defeat in North London and has called on the fans to help guide his side to safety.

He said: "All of them have the clear, collective objective to remain in the Premier League. I hear Marching On Together since my arrival here and that’s something I can feel.

"I love it. I love it when I listen to it in Elland Road. When I listen in Elland Road, it’s something different. It helps our players to play better, I’m sure.

"In the next games, they will be with us. In these important games, I don’t have doubt about the atmosphere at Elland Road."

Wolves fined after Leeds defeat

The Football Association have confirmed that Wolves have been fined following their reaction on the touchline in last month's defeat to Leeds.

The Wanderers fell short of expectations at Molineux in March and many of the players and staff felt the decision to not rule out a late strike by Rodrigo.

The referee had previously upgraded Jonny’s yellow card to a red after his foul on Luke Ayling and Wolves’ unused substitute Matheus Nunes was sent off, although that red card was overturned.

An FA statement read: "Wolves have been fined £57,500 following an incident in the 98th minute of their Premier League game on Saturday 18 March against Leeds United.

"Wolves admitted failing to ensure that their players and technical area occupants do not behave in a way which is improper towards an assistant referee and the fourth official.

"An independent regulatory commission imposed their fine following a subsequent hearing and the written reasons for this sanction will be published in due course."

Home comforts for Hammers

Lukasz Fabianski feels West Ham must utilise their home form as they look to secure their Premier League status next season.

The Hammers ground out a 1-0 win over Southampton at the London Stadium on Sunday and are now unbeaten in their last five in East London.

On the run-in, the Polish goalkeeper said: "If you look at the table, one win doesn’t really do too much for you.

"It's nice to be out of the relegation zone but each week is so different, you see teams in the bottom three and then suddenly jumping up to 13th or 14th.

"The next one is very important as well, it's a big one again at home and we have to use our home form to our advantage.

"We have to make sure we keep getting points at home and hopefully we’ll be out of this situation sooner rather than later."

Newcastle's European tour?

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak believes that securing Champions League qualification will make up for the Carabao Cup final defeat in February.

The Magpies took revenge against Manchester United on Sunday in a repeat of the Wembley tie, winning 2-0 at St James' Park.

And Isak — who has been a welcome addition on Tyneside — played his part in proceedings.

He said: "This win was very important because United are a direct rival for us in the table, so it's nicer to get the three points for ourselves.

"It was a massive, massive win, a big confidence boost for us and massive also for the table for the Champions League hunt.

"We've shown during the whole season what we're capable of, so nothing special. But it was a massive step in the right direction for our goal.

"Hopefully, we can use this win as a boost. We won’t talk too much about it. We will just take one game at time and get the results we need."

Determined Dalot

Diogo Dalot is hopeful that Manchester United can will all of their remaining games in the Premier League after losing 2-0 at Newcastle on Sunday.

The Red Devils are yet to score a goal or win a match since beating the Magpies in the Carabao Cup final recently and were outclassed by Eddie Howe's side at St James' Park.

The defender said: "We have to focus on ourselves. We know it’s all about us.

"If we control games, if we play like we have the ability to play, I think we can win every game. This is our aim.

"I think this is the consistency that we have to show on the pitch every single game and on Wednesday, we have to show a reaction."

United face Brentford on Wednesday and more dropped points could throw their Champions League aspirations into serious doubt ahead of the final stretch of the season.
