Pep Guardiola's Manchester City can go top with victory over Southampton

Ahead of Sunday's crunch clash between Arsenal and Liverpool, Manchester City are in action on Saturday and they will move, temporarily at least, to the top of the Premier League standings with victory over struggling Southampton.

That is one five matches scheduled to take place in the top flight on Saturday, with the action set to be rounded off by Fulham's trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton.

Manchester City vs Southampton (Saturday, 3pm)

Bet 1: Both Teams To Score

Unbeaten Manchester City should have no problem seeing off a Southampton side that has taken just a solitary point from their opening eight games and that are without a win in their last 21 Premier League matches.

However, City have conceded in each of their last seven top-flight fixtures, including on home soil against the likes of Ipswich, Brentford and Fulham, so the Saints can get on the scoresheet at the Etihad, just as they did in their last away fixture at Arsenal.

Bet 2: Erling Haaland to score two or more goals

Erling Haaland may not have scored in his last three Premier League appearances, but he showcased his prowess in front of goal with his midweek brace against Sparta Prague in the Champions League, taking his tally for the season to 13 goals in 12 games.

The Norwegian netted a brace the last time City faced Southampton in April 2023 and he will fancy his chances of repeating that trick against one of the Premier League's leakiest defences.

Bet 3: Tyler Dibling to receive a card

Tyler Dibling has been the bright spark in an otherwise difficult start to the season for Southampton, as the teenager is enjoying a breakthrough campaign, capped by his goal against Ipswich last month.

The England youth international has earned plenty of plaudits, but he has also picked up three yellow cards which shows there is a combative side to his game as well, something that could be on show on Saturday, especially if Saints are doing a lot of chasing out of possession.

Everton vs Fulham (Saturday, 5:30pm)

Bet 1: Everton to win

After losing their opening four league matches of the season, Everton are unbeaten in their four since, accumulating eight points over that time, while after a strong start, Fulham will head to Merseyside on the back of successive defeats.

Everton have generally been good at home, winning six and losing only two of their last nine league fixtures at Goodison Park. Sean Dyche's side appears to have turned a corner and could be facing Fulham at the right time.

Bet 2: Dwight McNeil to score or assist

Everton's Dwight McNeil has been thriving in a more central role over recent weeks and the stats back that up, as he has been directly involved in six goals across his last six league appearances, scoring three himself and providing three assists.

The 24-year-old, who also scored for the Toffees against Fulham two seasons ago, is arguably in his best form in an Everton shirt and can claim another goal involvement on Saturday.

Bet 3: Calvin Bassey to receive a card

Calvin Bassey has been an ever present for Fulham at the back this season but he will not have his regular centre-back partner alongside him for this game, as Joachim Andersen is suspended.

Andersen's absence will ramp up the pressure on Bassey and that could lead to the Nigerian international, who has been booked in his last two Premier League appearances, overstepping the mark once more.
