Five talking points from Fiorentina 1-2 West Ham

West Ham dramatically won the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina through Jarrod Bowen's late winner.

The Hammers have ended their 43-year wait for a major trophy and will now play in the Europa League next season. 

A tense affair came to life in the 62nd minute when Said Benrahma's penalty was cancelled out by Giacomo Bonaventura in the space of five minutes.

But Bowen was the difference-maker as he slid home a last-minute winner that made Moyes run down the touchline as he celebrated his first piece of silverware as a manager. 

Here are five talking points from an incredible game in Prague. 

Hammers make history

Just as extra-time looked to be looming, West Ham conjured up arguably the best moment in their history. 

Bowen timed his run superbly and ran onto a wonderfully weighted pass by Lucas Paqueta. 

Time stood still as he steadied himself to beat Pietro Terracciano with a calm finish.

West Ham's section of fans were sent into ecstasy — the celebrations were incredible from a fanbase that have been starved of glory nights like these for some time.

Season forgotten 

West Ham have had a poor season in the Premier League, but that is all forgotten now.

 Moyes' side have managed to rectify a relegation-threatened campaign by securing their first piece of silverware since 1980. 

They can now build on this momentum next term, where they will play in the Europa League — their third straight season competing in a European competition.

Crazy five minutes

The game was a tense affair but it came to life in the 62nd minute.  

West Ham were awarded a penalty and Benrahma slotted it away, sending the Hammers section into delirium. 

However, it seemed to wake Fiorentina up — they stepped up the gears and scored five minutes later through Bonaventura's cool finish into the bottom corner.

The game did manage to calm down after that but it was Bowen who had the final say on proceedings. 

Rice's moment 

This incredible night for West Ham was especially momentous for Declan Rice.

In probably his final game for the club, the 24-year-old emulated club greats Bobby Moore and Billy Bonds by leading the club to silverware.

Moore captained the Hammers to the 1965 European Cup Winners' Cup and Bonds led them to the FA Cup in 1975 and 1980.

Rice now has a moment of his own to go down in Hammers folklore. 

Horrible scenes 

In the first-half, some disgusting scenes broke out in the Fortuna Arena. 

 Cristiano Biraghi was caught by a cup thrown from the stands and it resulted in him bleeding from the back of the head.

On such a brilliant day for both sets of fans, it was a real shame to see the occasion tainted in such a disgraceful manner. 

The safety of the Fiorentina players were under threat, but Rice and his squad acted in a professional way, which should be commended.
