There are plenty of huge games to enjoy across the continent on Sunday and we’ve selected five scorers to look out for in games across England, Spain and Italy.

Antoine Griezmann has been in red hot form of late and can keep his run going when Atletico Madrid host Girona.

The first Manchester derby of the season the undoubted standout due to the unpredictability of both teams as Manchester City still look more vulnerable than they ever have under Pep Guardiola.

We have picked out a Manchester United goalscorer for that clash as a result, amongst our five players who look set for a starring role on Sunday.

Atletico Madrid have won their last 10 matches and are one of the most in-form teams in Europe, suggesting they should have no issues against Getafe, who are winless in nine La Liga away games.

In particular, Atleti’s forwards have impressed of late and their star man, Antoine Griezmann, is narrowly preferred to his in-form strike partner, Julian Alvarez, as the scorer pick for this clash.

The French forward has netted seven times in his last five appearances and looks a likely scorer again.

Heading into this weekend, only Wolves (38) had conceded more goals than Verona’s 37 in Europe’s top five leagues this term.

That woeful defensive record means it is worth siding with a Parma player to find the net in Verona’s next match, with Dennis Man the standout selection in that Serie A showdown.

The Romanian forward has already netted four league goals this season and against a weak defence and back on home soil - all four of his strikes have come at the Ennio Tardini Stadium - he should get one the scoresheet this weekend.

There are two Championship games on Sunday but only one is likely to involve plenty of net-bulging action - Watford’s clash with West Brom.

Both meetings last term finished 2-2, suggesting goals are on the agenda at Vicarage Road, with in-form Baggies forward Karlan Grant is fancied to grab one of them.

Grant has netted three goals in his last six appearances and two in his last three away matches, making him the scorer selection for this potential goalfest.

Just last month, Ruben Amorim led Sporting to a 4-1 rout of Manchester City in the Champions League and the Portuguese manager, now in charge of Manchester United, will be looking to replicate his tactics from that match on Sunday.

Viktor Gyokeres scored a hat-trick in that thrashing and, based on the early signs of the Amorim era, Red Devils forward Rasmus Hojlund is shaping up as if he could thrive in a similar role to the Swede in Sunday’s derby.

The Danish striker has netted five goals in his last four matches - despite starting only three of those games - and his pace, strength and ruthless finishing could hurt a depleted and disjointed City defence.

Robert Lewandowski is the top scorer in La Liga but even he can’t match the goals-per-90-minute ratio of Ayoze Perez, who is scoring at a rate of a goal every 80 minutes.

The Villarreal forward had been out with injury but played 45 minutes last time and, now back to full fitness, is likely to net against a Real Betis side who are without a win in five La Liga games.
