Roberto Firmino has joined Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ahli after leaving Liverpool as a free agent.

The Brazilian striker, 31, departed Anfield when his contract expired at the end of last season.

He made 362 appearances, scoring 111 goals and registering 79 assists, for the Reds following his arrival from Hoffenheim in 2015.

Firmino was the focal point for Jurgen Klopp's Champions League-winning side in 2019, won the Premier League the following season and the FA Cup and Carabao Cup double in 2022.

The ex-Premier League star follows former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to Jeddah-based Al Ahli, who were promoted to the Saudi Pro League last season after relegation in 2021-22.

After confirming he was leaving Liverpool in May, fan favourite Firmino posted an emotional farewell message on Instagram.

It read: "My last match in Anfield was incredible!

"And my whole time in Liverpool has been nothing but wonderful. I will never forget the roar of the Kop and the passion from all of you.

"The family and myself will forever carry this great club in our hearts.

"We are so grateful for everything we were allowed to experience with you in these 8 years — the wins, the losses, the titles, the heartbreaks — this all helped me to become the man I am today.

"I can truly say that Liverpool has become a part of my family. Thank you all."
