The release of FIFA 22 is almost upon us and excitement has reached new levels with the unveiling of the game’s highest-rated players.

Ahead of the latest edition's launch on October 1, EA Sports have revealed the Premier League’s best XI made up of the players with the highest ratings in the upcoming edition.

With the star-studded line-up featuring four Liverpool stars alongside last season’s top scorer and a global icon, it is a team not many would want to face.

GK – Ederson (89)

Manning the side between the sticks is Manchester City stopper Ederson.

The Brazilian kept the most clean sheets during the 2020-21 season with 19 as he picked up his third Premier League title.

DEF — Trent Alexander-Arnold (87)

It was an up and down campaign for Liverpool last season but Trent Alexander-Arnold eventually showed his class and has made a strong start this campaign.

The 22-year-old edges out Joao Cancelo as the highest-rated right-sided defender.

DEF — Virgil van Dijk (89)

Despite missing the majority of last season through injury, Virgil van Dijk maintains his place as the highest-rated centre-back on FIFA 22.

While he has harshly been downgraded by one since last season, the Dutchman will no doubt prove he is worthy of a 90 rating again if he stays fit.

DEF — Andy Robertson (87)

Completing the all-Liverpool back three is Scotland international Andy Robertson.

The flying left-back has recorded an impressive 37 assists since joining Liverpool and is firmly ahead of the chasing pack in his position.

MID — Kevin de Bruyne (91)

After winning last season’s PFA Player of the Year, City’s Kevin de Bruyne was always going to feature in this side.

The Belgian recorded 18 assists and 10 goals last season, earning him the joint-highest rating in the Premier League in FIFA 22.

MID — N'Golo Kante (90)

Providing the anchor in this attack-heavy side is Chelsea’s only entrant — N'Golo Kante.

The French midfielder has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the world for several seasons and has been upgraded two points from the last game.

MID — Bruno Fernandes (88)

So often Manchester United’s talisman since joining in January of 2020, Bruno Fernandes is a worthy member of this side’s midfield.

The Portuguese scored an incredible 28 goals and recorded 17 assists in all competitions last season and has been given a rating upgrade of one in this game.

MID — Heung-min Son (89)

On the left of midfield is Tottenham’s first member of the side, Heung-min Son.

The South Korean international is one of the Premier League’s most dangerous attacking players after finishing last season with 22 goals and 17 assists.

FWD — Mohamed Salah (89)

Liverpool’s final member of the team, Mohamed Salah continues to cement himself as one of the top flight's best attacking players.

His excellent start to the 2021-22 campaign has seen him enter the Premier League 100 club, the fifth-fastest ever to do so.

FWD — Harry Kane (90)

Not only was Harry Kane last season’s Premier League top scorer with 23 goals, he was also the chief creator with 14 assists.

While a move to Man City did not materialise this summer, he will no doubt continue to prove his worth at Tottenham during the new campaign.

FWD — Cristiano Ronaldo (91)

Making up this unstoppable front three is a man who needs no introduction.

Cristiano Ronaldo showed he is still one of the world’s best with a two-goal second debut for Man United against Newcastle, in what will surely be a sign of more to come this season.

Substitutes: Allison (89), Joao Cancelo (86), Paul Pogba (87), Jadon Sancho (87), Raheem Sterling (88), Romelu Lukaku (88), Sadio Mane (89)
