Erik ten Hag will be desperate to see his Manchester United side take all three points in Copenhagen.

- Man Utd have lost two of their last three trips to Danish sides
- Copenhagen’s first-ever Champions League win came against United
- Recommended bet: Copenhagen or tie at 21/20

After edging a narrow 1-0 win at Old Trafford last month, Manchester United face a testing visit to FC Copenhagen on Wednesday evening.

Problems are mounting for the Red Devils despite their 1-0 win at Fulham on Saturday and their Champions League hopes remain up in the air after losing their opening two games, so this visit to the group’s bottom side is vital.

Team news

Mohamed Elyounoussi misses out for the hosts, while Davit Khocholava, William Clem and Birger Meling are also ruled out of this game.

For United, Casemiro is suspended for this trip and he is one of a number of potential absentees for United. The Red Devils are missing injured quartet Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo.

Marcus Rashford missed the visit to Fulham at the weekend and may not return in time.

The stats

United have won just one of their last seven away Champions League ties.

Copenhagen had 16 shots in their 1-0 loss at Old Trafford, a record for them in an away game in this competition.

United have conceded a penalty in each of their three Champions League games this term, while Copenhagen have taken the lead in two of their three group games.

Marcus Rashford has gone seven games without a goal in the Champions League for United, who have lost three of their six away games this season.

Prediction

Copenhagen have just one point to show for their first three games in this competition, but their performances have been good.

They took the lead in their two opening games, while they pushed for an equaliser at Old Trafford and very nearly got it.

Copenhagen had 16 shots in that clash with United and the Red Devils are likely to be vulnerable with Casemiro suspended after his red card in the reverse clash.

The Danish side will hope home advantage can see them add to Erik ten Hag’s troubles. The Red Devils have won just one of their last seven trips in this competition, with that coming under interim coach Michael Carrick in 2021.

The Red Devils have been beaten in two of their last three visits to Danish sides, while their indiscipline so fat this term is a concern.

The visitors have given away a penalty in each of their games so far, while they lost to both Galatasaray and Bayern Munich, conceding seven goals across those losses.

With the Red Devils losing half of their away games so far this season, they should struggle in this trip. The hosts have looked more than capable in their early games, spending more minutes ahead than United across the first three games.

Back Copenhagen to frustrate the visitors and pile more pressure on to Ten Hag’s team.
