Fantasy Premier League GW8 reaction: Son the daddy but Ivan is Terrible

There were goals galore on Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 8 as Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Fulham all struck at least three times.

Gabriel Jesus fired the Gunners to the top of the table, Harry Kane continued his fine run of form in Spurs' rout of hapless Leicester and Jack Grealish bagged his first of the season in a Citizens cruise.

But it was not all plain sailing as West Ham duo Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen failed to register once again in a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Everton.

Gameweek 8 top performers

Heung-Min Son (Tottenham)

Heung-Min Son's Golden Boot defence got off to a sluggish start with no goals in his first six appearances.

But the 10.3% of Fantasy bosses who stuck by the South Korean were rewarded for their faith as he helped himself to a hat-trick against Leicester.

The midfielder's 19 points took him to 36 for the season and managers will be scrambling to snap him up in the hope it is the start of a goalscoring run.

A North London derby against in-form Arsenal is not an ideal next fixture, although the Gunners did ship three in their recent defeat to Manchester United.

William Saliba (Arsenal)

A key figure in the Gunners' resurgence has been William Saliba, who emerged from the wilderness to firm up Mikel Arteta's defence.

The Frenchman earned a valuable clean sheet against Brentford and also popped up in the Bees' penalty area with a fine headed goal that took him to 15 points and left his managers buzzing.

At £4.9million, Saliba looks a potential bargain but will be up against Kane and Son when the season resumes after the international window.

Jacob Ramsey (Aston Villa)

Jacob Ramsey scored the winner against Southampton after providing an assist in the 1-1 draw with City in Aston Villa's previous outing.

Steven Gerrard's Villans have improved after a criminally poor start and that should present more opportunities for their talented young midfielder to shine.

With 15 points across the past two Gameweeks, target the playmaker ahead of next month's trip to Leeds.

Gameweek 8 worst performers

Ivan Perisic (Tottenham)

Owned by just over a quarter of managers, Ivan Perisic's form is beginning to be a concern after he managed just two points in a 6-2 demolition of Leicester.

Taken off after 55 minutes, the Croatian did manage an assist for Eric Dier's rare goal but a yellow card hurt his tally.

After managing just four points from his last three outings, it could be time to move on from Perisic.

Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest)

A bargain-hunters' favourite, Neco Williams is owned by 27.4% of bosses.

Assists against West Ham and Bournemouth showed what the Welshman is capable of but a solitary point in a 3-2 defeat by Fulham was not much help.

Forest's defence are not exactly pulling up trees this season but could get back on track with games against Leciester, Villa and Wolves up next, meaning Williams is probably worth keeping hold of for now.

Ivan Toney

Fresh off a hat-trick, Ivan Toney was given nothing by Arsenal's defence as Brentford struggled to create anything of note.

The Bees hitman remains a valuable asset but does not provide the consisteny of some of the big guns.

With ownership figures of just over 20%, a trip to Bournemouth on October 1 is a great opportunity for a return to form for the recent England call-up.
