The Premier League returned for a bumper schedule in Gameweek 25 despite two teams not featuring because of the Carabao Cup final.

Arsenal were in action twice to beat Leicester and Everton, while Manchester City maintained their good form with a comfortable win at Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, Tottenham emerged victorious in their first win over Chelsea at their new stadium and Crystal Palace held their own at Selhurst Park and left Liverpool frustrated.

We take a look at some of the best and worst fantasy performers with Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and Wolves completing a double Gameweek on Wednesday.

Gameweek 25 top performers

Phil Foden (Manchester City)

Arsenal's win at the King Power Stadium will have only motivated Pep Guardiola's men to get the job done against the Cherries and they turned on the style at the Vitality.

Foden's return from injury will be a welcome sight for City fans and his 13-point return rounded off an almost perfect weekend as the champions emerged 4-1 victors.

His goal will give the Spanish head coach a selection headache ahead of their match against Newcastle on Saturday but the Englishman's performance may well have earned him a place in the starting XI again.

Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)

Arsenal have returned to form following their hiccup in recent weeks and Gabriel Martinelli's three goals across two games have put his side in the driving seat at the top of the table.

His strike in the Midlands and brace on Wednesday earned him a total of 26 points, with 16 of those coming in the win over the Toffees, to record his biggest score of the season.

The talented winger will be hungry for more success on the pitch in the coming weeks and has the perfect opportunity to add to his tally when Bournemouth come to town on Saturday.

Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)

Many Everton fans will have seen an opportunity to pick up a win at home against Aston Villa last weekend, but Unai Emery's side stepped up to the plate and secured a win and a clean sheet at Goodison Park.

Emiliano Martinez made up for his costly own goal against Arsenal in GW24 and put in an impressive performance between the sticks for the Villans.

His nine-point return will please the 4.2% who put their faith in the stopper and the World Cup winner will go into the home tie against Crystal Palace full of confidence after Saturday's result.

Gameweek 25 worst performers

Reece James (Chelsea)

Chelsea's woes continued as they suffered their first-ever defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Reece James was part of a defence that shipped two goals to their London rivals.

His total of one point is an improvement on the zero he got in the loss to Southampton last weekend, but the result will not please the England defender as his side slipped to within a point of the bottom half of the table.

There is no time to rest in the top flight and the full-back will have to move on quickly and prepare for Leeds at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Andreas Pereira (Fulham)

Fulham had to fight back against a much-improved Wolves on Friday night and the Cottagers were able to salvage a point at Craven Cottage.

It was not the best night for midfielder Andreas Pereira, who tallied just two fantasy points to the disappointment of 18.5% of players who had selected him.

Marco Silva's men travel up the road to Brentford in GW26 and the former United man will have his chance to put things right in what will be a big match in the race for Europe.
