Tottenham fan and host of the Last Word On Spurs podcast Ricky Sacks believes the club's main focus should be on getting their identity back under Ange Postecoglou.

Get back in the groove

At the moment for Tottenham, it's about trying to re-establish some form of identity and a vision that's been completely lost over the last four or five years.

I'm not sure if ENIC will ever get back the level of support they had at one stage but they need to try and reconnect with the supporters.

Ultimately, it's very hard to convince fans to go back to the way they were feeling.

Tottenham receive a lot of unfair criticism from the media and are always the laughing stock — and that might not change until we win something.

If we play a brand of football that can reunite the fan base, similar to the way Mauricio Pochettino did in his first season, I think it could be very exciting.

But Postecoglou is going to need time.

Patience is a virtue

I look at Guglielmo Vicario and see a project goalkeeper. He's going to need to adapt to a new league, a new culture, new surroundings.

My message to fans would be to be patient with the summer signings.

Manor Solomon was an opportunity. It's a free transfer and what I call a typical Tottenham deal.

He has the potential to be really good but he's a squad player. He fills that spot of Lucas Moura and I like what I've seen with him so far — he's a tricky little winger.

James Maddison is a proven Premier League player who knows the game really well. He speaks well and has a great record in terms of goals and assists when you look at his time at Leicester.

But a lot more has to be done for me to say it's been a successful window.

Kane's pain

The whole Harry Kane saga has been unfair on Postecoglou as he's had this running drama for the last six or seven weeks.

Harry is always someone who'll get his head down and play, regardless of the situation. He's a consummate professional.

Kane has regularly said he wants to be at a club winning trophies and I think it's a problem that Tottenham haven't matched his ambition.

He's won everything there is to win personally, from the Golden Boot to Player of the Year, and I know it frustrates him that he goes on England duty and the majority of that squad have won a trophy.

He will argue his best years are to come — and we're going to be worse off whenever he does leave.

Trophy push

The FA Cup and Carabao Cup will present a great opportunity for Postecoglou to get the fans on his side.

Don't forget he's won trophies wherever he's been. Winning is what football's about and what this club is about.

It will be very interesting to see how he takes those competitions. For me, there has to be the possibility of winning a trophy.
