Carvalho raring to go after completing ‘natural’ Reds switch
Fabio Carvalho wants to bring "assists, creativity and goals" to Liverpool after finally completing his move from Fulham.
Portugal Under-21s international Carvalho, 19, was unveiled as a Reds player on Merseyside this morning after his switch became official on Friday.
He joins the FA Cup and Carabao Cup winners on a five-year deal with Fulham entitled to a fee to be determined via a tribunal.
Having lit up the Championship with the Cottagers last term, registering 10 goals and eight assists, the wonderkid is confident he can continue producing the goods at Anfield.
Carvalho said: "Once you hear that Liverpool are interested, there’s only one thought in your mind, which is to join them and try to be in and around the team. Hopefully, I can achieve big things here.
"I spoke with everyone, and the manager, and it just felt so natural. When things become natural it’s just so much easier to make a decision.
"[Fulham boss] Marco Silva, the way he plays football and made us play football, is more like attacking football and getting goals, which is similar to how Liverpool play, trying to score goals and dominate games.
"That’s what I’m here to do, to be able to help the team with my assists, creativity and goals. I’m looking forward to it."
Carvalho will wear the No28 shirt and becomes Jurgen Klopp’s third new arrival this summer after Benfica striker Darwin Nunez and Aberdeen full-back Calvin Ramsay.
He will join up with his new team-mates for pre-season training tomorrow, with Klopp’s men starting their friendly schedule against old foes Manchester United on July 12.
