When is the FA Cup fourth round?

The fourth round of the 2023-24 FA Cup will be held across three days, kicking off on Friday, January 26 and concluding on Sunday, January 28.

The 32 remaining teams will play out 16 ties with spots in the fifth round up for grabs, with replays also still in force for any matches which finish level.

However, after the fourth round, replays are replaced by extra-time and penalties to help ease the busy end-of-season schedule for England's elite sides.

Which FA Cup fourth round ties are being televised?

The FA Cup fourth round is headlined by a glamour tie as Tottenham host holders Manchester City.

That clash will be shown live on ITV at 8pm, setting the tone ahead of an intriguing televised double header one day later.

Maidstone United of the sixth-tier National League South — the lowest-ranked team remaining in the competition — travel to Championship high-fliers Ipswich on Saturday lunchtime, before Fulham host Newcastle in an all-Premier League affair that evening.

On Sunday, a trio of TV games kick off when the winners of a replay between Brentford and Wolves visit West Brom in an unusual 11.45am kick-off slot.

Eight-time FA Cup winners Liverpool then host either Championship outfit Norwich or Bristol Rovers of League One at Anfield, while the Reds' bitter rivals Manchester United face a testing trip to either fourth-tier Newport County or National League minnows Eastleigh.

What are the big stories to look out for in the FA Cup fourth round?

With Arsenal having exited in round three, another giant is guaranteed to follow the Gunners out in round four when Spurs and City do battle.

Pep Guardiola's side did not concede a goal from open play on their way to winning the trophy last term but must overcome a Tottenham side they have beaten just once in their last five meetings.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, both Eastleigh and Maidstone United will be hoping to reach round five — a feat no non-league team was able to pull off last term.

Meanwhile, six of the 16 round four ties do not feature a Premier League side, meaning a significant amount of lower-league representation is assured in the competition's latter stages.

Winners of round four are awarded £120,000, with a further £110k handed out to the 12 sides who will have their clashes televised.
