Euro 2020 Transfer Talk: United target England duo after Sancho swoop
The summer transfer window is in full flow as we get ready for the Euro 2020 quarter-finals.
Jadon Sancho’s big-money move to Manchester United finally looks close to completion — but the England winger is unlikely to be the only member of Gareth Southgate's squad on the move.
We have rounded up the best of the day’s transfer rumours concerning players still involved at the European Championship.
United eye Kane and Rice
With a deal for Sancho seemingly in the bag, Manchester United have also set their sights on Harry Kane and Declan Rice.
Kane, 27, has requested to leave Tottenham in search of trophies and Rice, 22, has long been linked with a move away from West Ham.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his striking options after Anthony Martial’s disappointing season in front of goal, while a holding midfielder has been on his list for some time.
Sterling job
Manchester City will hold contract talks with Raheem Sterling, who has two years left on his existing deal, after Euro 2020.
Sterling, 26, has starred for Gareth Southgate’s side at the finals and is England’s top scorer with three goals.
Once he returns from international duty, City plan to open talks over extending his current contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Reports claim Sterling’s existing agreement is worth up to £300,000 a week, if certain clauses are met.
Tielemans talks
Juventus have also joined the growing list of clubs interested in Belgium star Youri Tielemans.
The Leicester midfielder, 24, has featured in three of the Red Devils’ four European Championship fixtures after excelling for the Foxes last season.
It was his stunning strike that won the FA Cup for Brendan Rodgers’ outfit and Liverpool are among those already linked.
According to reports in Italy, Juve would make Tielemans an important part of Max Allegri’s side.
But Tielemans is relaxed about his future.
He said: "I don't think about it. I am focusing on the Euros. I don't listen to transfer rumours. No matter how much I am valued, it doesn't change anything for me.
"I just want to make the best Euros I can."
Berardi battle
One Italian who could be heading to the Premier League is Domenico Berardi — but Leicester face competition from AC Milan.
Berardi, 26, who plays his club football for Sassuolo, scored 17 goals and provided seven assists in Serie A last term.
The Foxes have been credited with an interest in the winger throughout the Euros but now Milan have entered the race for the 14-cap Italian international.
