England's Women's World Cup campaign got off to a flier today with the launch of their new home and away kits.

Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses are hunting glory Down Under this summer and will be among the favourites.

They are already the pride of their country after winning Euro 2022 and now have new gear befitting their status.

Nike have paired the iconic white tops with blue shorts for the home strip, while the changed kit is light blue from head to toe with an eye-catching art deco-inspired pattern.

Choosing to switch to navy blue shorts comes amid discussion about the needs of female players while on their periods.

Last year, Beth Mead said the team had spoken to Nike about a potential change because white shorts were "not practical when it's the time of the month".

The sportswear giant revealed that the jersey and shorts are made of at least 80% recycled material as they aim to promote sustainability.

England face Brazil in the inaugural Women's Finalissima at Wembley on Thursday before welcoming World Cup co-hosts Australia to the Gtech Community Stadium next week.

The games will be a good test for Wiegman's outfit, especially with red-hot Chelsea forward Sam Kerr among the Aussie stars heading to London.

Up next is the tournament itself with England drawn against Haiti, Denmark and China in Group D.

They begin their campaign against the Haitians on July 22 looking to improve on a fourth-place finish in 2019.
