Draw

Dinamo Zagreb will be eager to claim all three points from this fixture to secure their play-off spot, but come into it in poor form, having extended a winless run over the weekend with a 1-1 home draw against Slaven Belepu.

Celtic’s 3-0 win at home against Hibernian on Saturday saw them open up a nine-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, at a time when they can also be highly satisfied with their results in the Champions League.

Team news

Zagreb suffered injuries to Raul Torrente and Arijan Ademi during their weekend draw against Slaven Belepu.

Petar Sucic and Takuya Ogiwara are definitely out for the Croats, while Bruno Petkovic is a doubt.

Midfielder Odin Holm looks likely to be the only player missing for Celtic, with boss Brendan Rodgers having had the luxury of being able to rotate his team for the win against Hibs.

The stats

Nenad Bjelica's Dinamo side have gone five games without a win and have won neither home game in the Champions League

Dinamo Zagreb are without a win from their last five games, drawing three and losing twice.

Celtic are unbeaten in 14 games across all competitions, winning 11 and drawing three.

Nenad Bjelica’s Dinamo side have yet to win at home in the League Phase of the Champions League this season, drawing 2-2 with Monaco and losing 3-0 to Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund are the only team to have beaten Celtic in the Champions League this season, with the Bhoys also winning twice and drawing twice from their five games so far.

Prediction

Dinamo Zagreb really need to claim three points from this game if they are to stand a chance of making the Champions League play-offs, with their final two fixtures seeing them face Arsenal and AC Milan.

Their current form does not bode well, with the club issuing a statement admitting that they are suffering a ‘crisis of results’ after just one win from their last seven domestic games.

Nevertheless, they have been competitive in the Champions League, bouncing back admirably from that 9-2 mauling by Bayern Munich, with a draw against Monaco and away wins at Red Bull Salzburg and Slovan Bratislava.

Celtic have produced some fine results, such as a 0-0 draw away at in-form Atalanta and a 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig at Celtic Park, so their 1-1 home draw against Club Brugge in their last outing, was a disappointment.

The Scots may have to settle for another draw away from home, which would not be the worst result ahead of a very winnable home fixture against Young Boys in January.
