Coventry vs Norwich predictions: Canaries could be made to wait for first win
- Norwich are winless in their last eight Championship games
- Coventry have scored 15 goals in their last seven home league matches
- Recommended bet: Coventry to win
Norwich were thrashed by Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup in midweek but will hope to bounce back at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday as they hunt for their first Championship win of the season.
Coventry will have other ideas, though, with the Sky Blues heading into this game having won three of their last four games in all competitions.
Team news
Coventry are expected to remain without Ben Sheaf and Raphael Borges Rodrigues until after the international break.
Ashley Barnes is Norwich’s only injury concern, but Jon Rowe is no longer an option after joining Marseille on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy earlier this week.
Centre-back Jose Cordoba could be handed his first league start for Norwich after featuring from the outset in midweek.
The stats
Norwich are winless in their last eight Championship games.
Coventry have scored 15 goals in their last seven home league matches.
Coventry have won three and drawn one of their last four competitive matches.
Norwich have lost their last four competitive away days by an aggregate scoreline of 11-0.
The Sky Blues have won nine of their last 15 competitive home fixtures.
Prediction
Coventry’s 2023-24 campaign was dominated by their fantastic run to the FA Cup semi-finals, but this season they will be hoping to push for a play-off spot in the Championship, and they have made a solid start.
The Sky Blues lost their opener against Stoke, but have since won three and drawn one of their four competitive matches. Two of these were home victories against Oxford United in the league and the Carabao Cup, and Saturday could see Norwich added to this list of scalps after a tough start to the campaign for the Canaries.
While Coventry were seeing off The U’s in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, Norwich were being thrashed 4-0 at Selhurst Park to leave them with just one win from five competitive assignments this season, and that sole success came at home against League One outfit Stevenage.
They have lost both away games this season and, looking back to last season, have now lost their last four road trips by an aggregate scoreline of 11-0.
With nine wins from their last 15 competitive home games, Mark Robins’ side could add another three points to their tally when Norwich come to town.
