Connor Jennings netted a 75th-minute equaliser as Tranmere secured a 2-2 draw against fellow League Two strugglers Morecambe at Prenton Park.

Ben Tollitt and Adam Lewis had struck either side of Jordan Turnbull’s effort to give the visitors a 2-1 lead before Jennings rescued a point.

Morecambe were ahead after just 12 minutes when Tollitt pounced on a mix-up in Rovers’ defence to slot the ball into an empty net.

The home side offered little in response before half-time with a long-range effort from Kieron Morris being their only real opportunity on goal.

Just two minutes after the break Tranmere were level when Turnbull rose highest to meet a Josh Hawkes corner and head home from six yards.

Their joy was short-lived however, as Lewis’ shot from the edge of the area deceived everyone to put Morecambe ahead in the 50th minute.

But with 15 minutes remaining skipper Jennings latched onto a Sam Finley pass to slide the ball past Harry Burgoyne.

Rovers had a glorious opportunity to win it when Declan Drysdale headed wide from close range in the dying minutes, leaving both teams just above the relegation zone.
