League Two Chesterfield eased into the FA Cup second round after a 3-1 win against Horsham.

Leading scorer Will Grigg struck in both the first and second half and Armando Dobra also found himself on the scoresheet as the Spireites beat their Isthmian Premier League opponents, who are 74 league places below the hosts.

The hosts took a sixth-minute lead through Grigg after brilliant build-up play between Jenson Metcalfe ando Devan Tanton, who found Grigg open in the box for a first-time strike into the net.

Minutes into the second half, Michael Jacob’s thunderous effort at goal ricocheted off Grigg, who controlled it perfectly to fire it past Carey for his second of the game.

After a spectacular run through the midfield and a deft manoeuvre around the defence from the edge of the penalty box, Dobra made it three in the 66th minute.

Substitute Chris Dickson scored a consolation goal for the visitors in the 85th minute but the Hornets’ first ever visit to Chesterfield ended in FA Cup elimination.
