- Each of Roma's last four games have featured over 3.5 goals
- Brighton's league games have averaged 3.36 goals per game this term
- Recommended bet:
Over 3.5 goals

Brighton have an almighty challenge ahead of them in the last 16 of the Europa League, having lost the first leg against Roma 4-0 in Italy last Thursday.

The Seagulls were dominated by the capital club and are now looking to become the first club in Europa League history to overturn a four-goal deficit in a knockout tie to progress.

It could ultimately be a case of playing for pride for Robert De Zerbi's men, but that does not mean they will not put up a fight and it could be a high-octane affair on the south coast.

Team news

Solly March, Kaoru Mitoma, Jack Hinshelwood, James Milner and Joao Pedro are sidelined for Brighton, although Julio Enciso and Igor could return to the matchday squad.

For the visitors Paulo Dybala should feature after overcoming an injury concern, while Rick Karsdorp is also available again. Rasmus Kristensen and Tammy Abraham are long-term absentees.

The stats

Roma's last four games in all competitions have produced a total of 18 goals with each featuring over 3.5 goals.

Brighton's Premier League fixtures have averaged 3.36 goals per game this term and they have netted 50 times in 28 top-flight fixtures.

Both teams have scored in 21 of Brighton's 28 games in the Premier League.

Prediction

Punters are unlikely to want to back Brighton after their 4-0 mauling by Roma last week, while Thursday's visitors to the Amex Stadium may rotate and approach the game more conservatively, so the match result is not massively appealing.

Instead, the best selection in this game is over 3.5 goals.

Even if it seems an insurmountable task, Brighton have to attack this second leg, at the very least to restore pride.

Though Joao Pedro will be missing, they have goals in them in Danny Welbeck and Evan Ferguson.

But a top-heavy approach will leave the Seagulls vulnerable on the counter-attack and Roma could also get on the scoresheet.

Roma have netted 13 times in their last four games, each of which featured over 3.5 goals against Fiorentina, Brighton, Monza and Torino.

As for Albion, their league fixtures have been particularly entertaining this term with 21 of their 28 top-flight fixtures having seen both teams to score.

This should be a lively game at both ends and punters should expect the goals to rain down on the south coast.
