Blackpool and Stevenage played out an uninspiring goalless draw at a wet and windy Bloomfield Road.

In truth, neither side warranted anything more from a game that did little to excite either set of supporters.

In a quiet first half both teams created one clear opening each.

The hosts had the first chance of the game with barely five minutes on the clock through midfielder Albie Morgan, who fired a wicked volley at the palms of Murphy Cooper following some neat work from Rob Apter out on the left wing.

Louis Thompson had the visitors’ best chance of the half just after a quarter of an hour when he fired a dipping strike goalwards which forced a smart save out of Harry Tyrer, who tipped it over his crossbar.

The second period offered little more in terms of goalmouth action with Blackpool substitute Jordan Rhodes having the best chance when he flicked Lee Evans’ corner at the near post to bring about an excellent reaction save from Cooper.

The stalemate means both teams extend their unbeaten runs. Blackpool are now without defeat in four while Stevenage have not lost in five.
