- Blackburn have won both of their home league games this season
- Over 2.5 goals has landed in two of Bristol City's last three matches
- Recommended bet:
Blackburn to win and over 2.5 total goals

Two teams that have seen plenty of goals this season meet in the Championship at Ewood Park on Saturday, when Blackburn entertain Bristol City.

No less than 15 goals have been scored in Rovers' first four league matches — a joint-high in the division — while the Robins' quartet of fixtures has produced just one fewer strikes.

Saturday's meetings has all the makings of an end-to-end classic and Blackburn, who have collected eight points in an unbeaten start to the Championship, will be hoping they can continue their impressive run.

Team news

Blackburn are without the services of Makhtar Gueye, who serves a one-match ban for his red card against Burnley, while Scott Wharton is not expected back until January due to an ACL injury.

Callum Brittain should have recovered from a knock picked up prior to the international break, but Danny Batth, Harry Pickering, Zak Gilsenan and Harry Leonard are expected to stay sidelined as they close in on a return to action.

Deadline-day signings Todd Cantwell and Amario Cozier-Duberry are expected to be part of the matchday squad.

Bristol City are again likely to be missing the injured quartet of George Earthy, Robert Dickie, Rob Atkinson and Ross McCrorie.

The stats

Blackburn are unbeaten in their four Championship matches this season, beating Derby and Oxford while drawing with Norwich and Burnley.

Rovers have scored nine times and conceded six goals during this period, with over 2.5 goals landing in three of these fixtures.

Bristol City have chalked up one victory, two draws and one defeat from their four league assignments, scoring six goals and conceding eight times.

The Robins won the last meeting 5-0 at Ashton Gate in April, but they suffered a 2-1 defeat in their last trip to Ewood Park in December last year.

Prediction

Blackburn are showing good progress under manager Eustace and an unbeaten start to the Championship campaign has seen belief grow that they can put in a strong promotion challenge.

The departure of Sammie Szmodics, last season's top scorer in the Championship, has not affected the side and the team's total of nine goals scored is bettered by only Sunderland and Burnley (both 10).

Rovers have not been as solid at the back, as they have yet to keep a clean sheet in all competitions, but that makes for entertaining games and over 2.5 goals has landed in five of their six outings this term.

The Robins have also been involved in some high-scoring affairs, with a 4-3 win at home to Millwall one of two Championship assignments that have gone over the 2.5 mark.

Blackburn have won both home league matches in this campaign and they should be able to rack up a third victory in a thrilling encounter.
