Thomas Muller admitted Bayern Munich lacked "fluidity" despite beating Hoffenheim 3-0 at the Allianz Arena.

Jamal Musiala was the star of the show with goals either side of half-time, before Kane sealed the win with his 22nd league goal in 16 games.

But despite an eventually comfortable victory, Muller, 34, was rather critical when reflecting on his team's performance.

He said: "We did some good things in the 90 minutes, some not so good.

"We really needed Manuel Neuer at a time when things could have turned out differently.

"In the end we did well, but we lacked a bit of fluidity. We were active against the ball, but we didn't create enough chances with the ball.

"It wasn't perfect, but a 3-0 win is still okay."

Thomas Tuchel had similar feelings, pointing out that his side cannot afford to give up the chances they did in future games.

The German coach added: "We did a few good things in the game, but once again we weren't fluid enough.

"We couldn't bring the enthusiasm from the training week onto the pitch again.

"The result is great, we won 3-0 in the end, but there's still a lot to do. We were sometimes too static, there wasn’t enough flow in the game.

"We can’t concede so many big chances in games like this when we’re in control."

Despite a quiet evening, Kane equalled Robert Lewandowski's record for the most goals in the first half of a Bundesliga season.

Bayern also moved within one point of surprise leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

It was an emotional night at the Allianz Arena as they paid tribute paid to Franz Beckenbauer.

Bayern's players wore shirts with 'danke Franz' written across the front as it was the first game since the Germany legend Beckenbauer's death aged 78 on Sunday.
