Substitute Andrew Dallas’ late goal sealed a 2-1 comeback victory for Barrow over Cheltenham.

The Robins had taken the lead late in the first half through Cumbria-born Ryan Bowman, but Emile Acquah levelled just after the break and Dallas won it four minutes from the end with his first goal for the club.

Cheltenham were looking for their first away win of the season and they made a promising start, with Tom Pett testing Wyll Stanway early on while Bowman nearly capitalised on a lapse from the keeper.

Barrow then threatened through Kian Spence’s header after half an hour, which dropped just wide.

Cheltenham broke the deadlock when Ethon Archer’s effort was parried by Stanway and Bowman followed up for his second goal in two games.

Chris Popov was denied by Owen Evans in the 43rd minute, but Bowman then tested Stanway again before half-time.

Elliot Newby set up the equaliser with a fine cross from the left that Acquah reached ahead of Sam Stubbs to nod emphatically into the net.

And Dallas slotted home the winner in the 86th minute after Ben Jackson’s ball in.
