Barnsley eased to a 3-1 Sky Bet League One win at 10-man Peterborough.

The visitors’ third win in four games condemned struggling Posh to a sixth defeat in seven.

The visitors went close when Davis Keillor-Dunn darted in to meet Barry Cotter’s cross, but he nodded over.

Keillor-Dunn then forced Posh goalkeeper Nicholas Bilokapic into a reflex save from a well-struck snapshot.

Barnsley continued to dominate and Jon Russell fired narrowly wide.

At the other end Malik Mothersille forced visiting goalkeeper Ben Killip into an excellent stop.

Two goals in eight minutes shortly after the restart saw Barnsley take control.

American striker Donovan Pines broke the deadlock, firing home smartly on the turn after a throw-in was not cleared.

Keillor-Dunn then doubled the visitors’ advantage, meeting Luca Connell’s pass before smashing home clinically.

Posh reduced the arrears from the spot when Mothersille slotted in after Emmanuel Fernandez had been fouled by Conor McCarthy.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men when Harley Mills was shown a red card after a crude challenge on Corey O’Keeffe, before Russell curled home superbly to make it 3-1 to Barnsley.
