Ashleigh Neville beleives she is playing at her most consistent level for Tottenham this season.

The Women's Super League is enjoying a winter break but Spurs will be back in action in the FA Cup against Sheffield United on January 14 before a league clash at West Ham seven days later.

Robert Vilahamn's side sit sixth in the table but are only three points off Manchester United in fourth.

And Neville believes Vilahamn's style of play has helped the team as well as her individual performances.

The defender, 30, told Tottenham's website: "I spoke to Robert and Vicky [Jepson] not long ago and I think this is the most consistent I have been at WSL level.

"I have had times previously when I have been up and down. But with the stats I have looked at with the backroom staff, it has been the most consistent I have been as an individual, which helps the team on the pitch.

"Personally, I'm enjoying playing the style of football. It suits me as a player with how I like to play as a full-back but consistency is massive for us, individually but also as a team, week in, week out, to get the results we want."

Spurs recently got one over arch-rivals Arsenal last month, beating them 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to a Martha Thomas goal.

It was a historic victory for the Lilywhites and Neville insists the win was a sign of the club's progression.

She added: "It was a North London derby and we know the rivalry between the two clubs. But for us as a women's team it shows how far we have come.

"To think we have only been in the WSL for five seasons.

"When I first started here, we were losing games to a large scoreline to Arsenal. To now have finally got the win we truly deserved is great to see how far the club has come and was a great day for the supporters."
