Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou rued his side's late collapse as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Wolves.

Postecoglou was without injured duo James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, along with suspended pair Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie for the trip to Molineux.

Yet Brennan Johnson's first goal for Spurs after three minutes gave the visitors a lead they held until second-half stoppage time.

Pablo Sarabia and Mario Lemina's strikes at the death left Postecoglou deflated.

The Aussie boss said: "We ran out of legs at the end. It is understandable. A lot of those guys haven't played.

"We could have been more positive first half. We scored early and played conservatively. We had chances we could have taken.

"Wolves are always going to come on strong, [they are] tough to beat and they came at us. It is always a tough game here.

"They scored a couple of good goals — a hard one to take.

"We've got to keep playing our football and the chances will come from that."

Match-winner Lemina saluted the power of the home support and the tactical nous of boss Gary O'Neil.

The Gabonese midfielder said: "It's amazing, this kind of feeling in front of our fans.

"The fans have really supported me since I've been here and I really love them. I love the club. They are amazing with me and I try to give back to them.

"We've been pushing so hard. I think we deserved this game because we put in amazing shifts.

"We knew that we had the best tactics to play against them and we showed it today.

"It's amazing for me to score the winning goal and I'm really happy about that.

"We need to think about the international break and the next game but we are going to enjoy this."

Victory boosts Wolves up to 15 points after 12 games while Spurs missed the chance to go top of the table after their second defeat on the spin.
