AC Milan to win to nil

AC Milan got back to winning ways with victory over Udinese on Saturday and will look to build on that home win when they host Club Brugge in the Champions League on Tuesday night at the San Siro.

Milan suffered a dip in form with back-to-back away defeats at Bayer Leverkusen and Fiorentina, but responded with the win against Udine last time out.

The Rossoneri now switch their focus back to Champions League matters, as they face a Club Brugge side who have been struggling for consistency.

Two wins in their last six games in all competitions does not make great reading for the Belgian champions and now a tough trip to the San Siro awaits.

Team news

Milan do have a few injury concerns ahead of Tuesday's game, with Marco Sportiello (hand), Ismael Bennacer (ankle), Alessandro Florenzi (ACL) and Davide Calabria (calf) all set to miss out.

Theo Hernandez missed the win over Udinese due to a suspension, but will be fit and fresh for a big European night at the San Siro.

As for the visitors, they have Andreas Skov Olsen out until early next month due to a muscle injury, while fellow forward Gustaf Nilsson has been nursing a calf issue but has returned to training.

Defender Bjorn Meijer faces a race against time to be fit for the trip to Italy as he recovers from a knee injury.

Nicky Hayen and Club Brugge are finding the Champions League a massive challenge.

The stats

AC Milan have a strong defensive record on home turf, as they have won to nil in three of their last four games at the San Siro.

Club Brugge have a poor recent record in the Champions League, winning just one of their last seven games in the competition.

Brugge and Milan have met on six previous occasions, with Milan winning three and losing twice against the Belgian outfit, while both teams to score has landed just once in those six meetings between these two teams.

Prediction

Given Brugge’s poor record in the Champions League and Milan’s recent home form, a home win to nil looks to be the way to go here.

Paulo Fonseca's have looked solid at the back at the San Siro and the return of France international Hernandez will be a further boost to their backline, while also offering a little more in attack down the left flank.

The Rossoneri are in desperate need of a win if they are to reach the knockout stage of the Champions League and the hosts look capable of getting the job done on Tuesday evening.
